He looked over at her as she carefully scooped dirt around the base of the new tree they had just planted. They had been planting all day on this piece of land he had been nurturing for years. Many a day had been spent working this land together; mowing the grass, planting corn, just walking thru it even. He laughed quietly to himself remembering how when he had asked her to come see it the first time, she had asked if she needed to bring the poop bags for her dog. Roughing it hadn't been a part of her regular life clearly. But here today, planting trees, she looked like a natural, and he loved her for it. Finishing up a little while later, he asked her to come sit on the hill for a moment. She protested, claiming she was dirty and tired and really just wanted to get home. He convinced her anyway, and so then here they sat, overlooking the landscape and their hard work. The air was still, the sunset was impending, and the moment couldn't have been more perfect. He pulled her in close and put his hand out in front of her. Opening his fingers, he revealed a sparkling ring. She gasped and he laughed as he asked the all important question.
Sara & Brian had a trying shoot by anyone's standards - but they had the Best attitude and we had a great time regardless. Our plans for a beautiful fall color shoot got dampened a bit by the sprinkling rain that turned to actual rain eventually (messing with Sara's fabulous blow-out). What was great though, and such a testament to their relationship, was Brian and Sara's ability to see past the rain and have fun anyway and adapt. For a couple planning a March wedding - when the weather can be anything but predictable - this will serve them well. Oh yes, and we can chalk this union up to another eHarmony success story as well! I'm continually impressed by the matches that come from that (or any internet dating) service.
Oh yes, I must not forget the third member of this family - Mandy. She joined us for part of the shoot and was such a little angel.
