I'm mthree. Those are my initials. Always have been, and thanks to a hubby with a "M" last name; always will be.

I've been a designer for over ten years, I was an animator and a filmmaker once, I was a bride before I was a photographer, I'm a new business owner, but I've always been an artist.

You can get a glimpse of where I've been, a better look at where I am and a peek at where I'm going right here.

Calie & Erik | Engagement

She hoisted another saddle onto the back of a horse, followed quickly by another child onto the saddle. It felt just like summer camp, she thought, yet it wasn't. She was here helping on a special weekend, walking in her own shoes in a way. Being here was so comfortable, she had spent so many summers here for so many years she didn't remember a summer that didn't involve this camp. It was easy to feel like a counselor again at this moment, but she wasn't - she was a grad student in Milwaukee. Her shirt said "green" but was actually yellow. Today was certainly a surreal experience. A few hours later, she and Eric had finished cleaning up the stable, had put away all of the supplies, put all of the horses in their stalls. The children had gone home with their parents and their friends had promised to meet them in the mess hall after cleaning up. They walked over to the hill at the edge of the horse area and sat down for a minute to relax. Looking over at Erik, she noticed he was just as sweaty and dirty as she was. The look, the feeling of fatigue, it was so familiar. Sitting on this hill was something they had done so many summer nights over the last two years as their relationship had started to solidify. She sighed with contentment and looked out at the sunset. He put his arm around her and then started talking. About halfway thru his second sentence she realized this wasn't like any other night relaxing on the hill at all. No, this was something else entirely. She had been duped so wonderfully. This was a proposal!

Both Calie and Erik say there was hardly a time when they didn't know each other it seems. They met at summer camp and had always just kind of been friends. Friends turned to more than friends, and next year they will return to the camp to marry where they met. How sweet is that?

We had a fantastic time exploring around the Third Ward for their shoot, accompanied by the uber-cute pup Frankie. And we ended the evening with a stop at a local sports bar for a beer and a friendly game of foosball and cornhole.
